This past weekend I went up to Gainesville to attend the ENDO SESH 2018 event. Endo stands for endocannabinoid system in the human body. Sesh stands for… well, session. 2018 (I’m pretty sure) is the year. The event was being run by GreenWise.tv and Swamp City Lounge.
I had no idea what to expect going in. However, when I got there I figured it out right quick. The primary purpose of the ENDO SESH 2018 was to help spread information about medical marijuana and the state Florida. I have spent the past year studying up on medical marijuana, and still I learned plenty.
There were numerous CBD vendors and even more folks helping to fight the good fight when it comes to medical marijuana and the inherent conflict with numerous laws, both state and federal. Swamp City Lounge, on top of hosting, were generously sampling different types of CBD (which is NOT illegal). Any questions one had, they were ready to answer.
Most of the credit goes to GreenWise.tv for putting whole thing together. I can’t thank them enough, especially the man who runs GreenWise.tv. That man is Jose Rosado. His knowledge about medical marijuana is only outweighed by his passion for helping spread the good word. He had numerous speakers explain what we may not know and answer questions. These speakers varied from folks who test the medical marijuana to make sure it is up to par, doctors who are very knowledgeable about the endocannabinoid system, and advocates like R. David Walker and Gary Stein.
R. David Walker is currently running for Commissioner of Agriculture, and after hearing him speak, his knowledge of agriculture is astounding. He explained how hemp/marijuana can refresh the soil that is causing the canker in the citrus industry, and to me that was beyond fascinating. Gary Stein is a very vocal advocate who has dedicated his life to helping all of us (while remaining impressively humble!), so much so, he won the first annual ENDO SESH award for Florida Cannabis Excellence!
Above all else, the one thing that I took away from the event is that everybody there, and I mean EVERYBODY, has the same “patient first” mentality. Passion is an understatement for how much we all care about legitimately helping people.
I’m already looking forward to next year’s ENDO SESH!
